When we don’t see each other every day, we have to be even more deliberate about saying “thank you” and appreciating other people’s work and contributions to the team process.
If this is an area you need to address, you’re all probably too busy to stop and remark on your good work.
- TOOL: Use a communication tool where you can easily add reactions. It’s surprising how rewarding a simple “thumbs up” or e-smile can be.
- PROCESS: Have regular updates where people can share good practice they’ve seen in their team.
- BEHAVIOUR: Don’t forget to say thank you when people go out of their way to help and if something great happens as a result of someone’s actions or advice, remember to let them know about it.
